Halloween - Maroon 5 ???
I have not made much of a slot on mylivetube for my personal adventures... but perhaps I should more often as I often wind up in situations that friends and family find entertaining. Many adventures from me accidentally being seated as a reviewer for a blockbuster film screening to free meals, wacky parties, production gigs.... and crazy animal encounters ensue here.
So... around Midnight, Halloween, my friend, Nick tells me to meet him at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. I had just turned off my computer and was headed to sleep... BUT... I knew this would be a crazy event!
The annual MAROON 5 (yes, that cheesy band) throws a massive event, apparently. Brendan Orourke went with me to join Nick Launay & Jon Marie Mack. FREE FOOD, DRINKS, etc... a huge outdoor fest with IN-N-OUT food trucks and more... Lindsay Lohan walked by us in a Nurse outfit, Paris Hilton was right by us in an Alice In Wonderland outfit. Lukas Haas was beside me for a while...
I do not make a habit of being at an A-list event, but it happened. Surprisingly, people were very relaxed and I hit the french fries cart more than once ;) (I do not drink alcohol, but I surely eat food) Apparently, Christina Aguelelalalearia, Kirsten Dunst and a slew of other people were there too. Anyhow... I did go out on Halloween after all. Photo set to follow as time permits.

Massive Attack vs Burial - Four Walls
For the last two weeks, since I heard it on Mary Anne Hobbs show, I have been playing this collaboration between Massive Attack & Burial. Four Walls is a long 12 minute opus and the flip side, vinyl only release at this point, has a rework of Paradise Circus from Massive Attack's Heligoland 2010 album. Expect to hear this and other beautifully crafted music on my forthcoming radio show in November :)

Pooch-A-Rilla
It was a year ago today that Miss Pooch-A-Rilla passed. She was an amazing companion and I think of her daily. Li Kitty Katz was sad for a while too, but Pooch had a long & happy life, touching many people's hearts. It was a year ago I stopped shaving. Tomorrow, I shave my beard. Actually, friends will do this.

EXCLUSIVE: After revisiting his classic Alien with the upcoming 3D Fox film Prometheus, Ridley Scott is committing to direct and produce a film that advances his other seminal and groundbreaking science fiction film from the past. Scott has signed on to direct and produce a new installment of Blade Runner. He’ll make the film with Alcon Entertainment, producing with Alcon partners Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove. This would be the most high profile project for Alcon since The Blind Side. They got control of the franchise earlier this year, but it's a whole different ballgame with Scott at the helm.

The first Prince Purple Party recap
There was lots of dancing, smiles, Prince songs and purple.
Positive energy was abound as you grooved, gyrated and got down to the music.
The fashion was spectacular! You are a gorgeous lot!
It was a great way to celebrate a birthday and I thank everyone who participated including everyone dancing, the DJs who spun the music with me (Jason Savvy, Jack Stauss & Henry Self), The Holding Co. (venue), Brian Erzen photography, Lina Lecaro (LA Weekly) and the amazing aerial silk artistry of Pamela Samuelson. Watching her attach and dismantle the silk from the rafters was quite intense!
My feet were sore from Prince-esque dance moves in my tall white boots, but it was worth it ;)

The Dumbest Kid in the World?
A young boy enters a barber shop and the barber whispers to his customer, "This is the dumbest kid in the world. Watch while I prove it to you."
The barber puts a dollar bill in one hand and two quarters in the other, then calls the boy over and asks, "Which do you want, son?"
The boy takes the two quarters and leaves. "What did I tell you?" said the barber. "That kid never learns!"
Later, when the customer leaves, he sees the same young boy coming out of the ice cream store. "Hey, son! May I ask you a question? Why did you take the quarters instead of the dollar bill?"
The boy licked his ice cream cone and replied, "Because the day I take the dollar, the game is over!"
