Massive Attack vs Burial - Four Walls

For the last two weeks, since I heard it on Mary Anne Hobbs show, I have been playing this collaboration between Massive Attack & Burial. Four Walls is a long 12 minute opus and the flip side, vinyl only release at this point, has a rework of Paradise Circus from Massive Attack's Heligoland 2010 album. Expect to hear this and other beautifully crafted music on my forthcoming radio show in November :)

Ahead to the Back To The Future! (Electric Deloreans & Hoverboards, OH MY!)

I know that 2015 is the year where the FUTURE was for Marty McFly and Doc Brown... but we are already on the road to our version of the future.... even though... where they were going... they did not need roads.

1. Electric Delorean
2. Hoverboards!
3. Nike Mag Shoes

Electric exotic cars are beginning rival the power and glamour of the petrol-war driven fuel based cars. The rebooted DeLorean Motor Company, in collaboration with with Epic EV, will have a new STEEL beast on the road by 2013. The DMC-12 runs on Lithium-ion batteries (unlike the FLUX CAPACITOR) for the rear placed motor. Expected is a $90-100K price range. The interior has been updated to dock your mobile phone, etc.
Delorean SPEC Sheet:

Levitating quantum superconductors exist in Tel Aviv! You can see a clip below from the University and also a video of experiments with a superconducting hoverboard, fueled and cooled with liquid nitrogen, at Paris Diderot University, transports a person along five meter rails!

Read More about "Quantum Locking" here:

Nike Mag Shoes go perfectly with the Hoverboard as seen above. Can you believe these are coming out by Nike?!!??! "The NIKE MAG is no longer the “greatest shoe never made.” The mythical shoe that originally captured the imagination of audiences in Back to the Future II is being released."
"1500 pairs of the 2011 NIKE MAG will be auctioned on eBay with all net proceeds going directly to The Michael J. Fox Foundation. Each day for the duration of the ten-day auction, one hundred and fifty pairs of the 2011 NIKE MAG shoes will be made available via eBay’s Fashion Vault. The auction starts September 8, 8:30PM PST, and will end September 18. Thanks to a previous 50 million dollar match given to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, all donations will be matched, effectively doubling the contributions from the auction." - Nike Press Release

Enjoy the future!

David Byrne - Psycho Killer - Sessions at West 54th Street

David Byrne has inspired so many people and the general population may only know a light version of this via his work with Talking Heads, however, if you look here, you may see a further glimpse of his various directions which surely inspired Thom Yorke, Trent Reznor, Meat Beat Manifesto, David Bowie... etc.

The music performance begins at 1 minute 30 seconds, following the interview with Chris Douridas (KCRW)

"Combine Pink Floyd's characters of THE WALL, Tim Burton's collection of googly ghouls gadets and grub in a blender with the folks in The Yellow Submarine from the Beatles turned dark in a fantasy world.

Stunning, Breathtaking, addictive, calming set in a cold but warm and placid distant world of adventure is what I can tell you and I hope you are delighted as much as I am." --- MyLiveTube April 2008

Planet Earth covered by William Shatner

Speaking of covers from my previous post about Depeche Mode and NIN covering U2, I wonder what folks will think of this....

U2 covered by Patti Smith, NIN, Depeche Mode, Gavin Friday, Garbage...

I enjoyed the first few U2 albums and enjoyed them in concert since the late 80s and
am certainly looking forward to hearing "AHK-toong BAY-bi Covered", the covers album included with the December issue of Q magazine, available October 26th.

Which artist interpretations are you most curious to hear?
I am eager to hear Gavin Friday (Virgin Prunes) as it is no secret that U2 was highly influenced by Virgin Prunes. Hearing Depeche Mode and Patti Smith and even Trent Reznor will be interesting too.

Nine Inch Nails - Zoo Station
U2 - Even Better Than the Real Thing (Jacques Lu Cont Mix)
Damien Rice - One
Patti Smith - Until The End Of The World
Garbage - Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses
Depeche Mode - So Cruel
Snow Patrol - Mysterious Ways
The Fray - Trying To Throw Your Arms Around The World
Gavin Friday - The Fly
The Killers - Ultraviolet (Light My Way)
Glasvegas - Acrobat
Jack White - Love Is Blindness

Achtung Baby
- 7th studio album
- Produced by Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno
- Released on 19 November 1991 on Island Records
- Over 18 million copies sold worldwide
