MEGAUPLOAD no more

With SOPA / PIPA covering the tongue of current talk, it is no surprise that certain sites would be axed.

MEGAUPLOAD, who have been a major player in the file hosting of films, music, tv and such, particularly illegally hosted media, have been shut down by the FEDS. It has been reported that at minimum, $500 Million dollars of infringement have been placed and $175 Million in profit has been generated by MEGAUPLOAD. The owners face possible jail time for 20 years.

You can read more about the latest attack on piracy below. http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/01/19/us-usa-crime-piracy-idUSTRE80I24220120119

I have noticed other sites where media is collected and shared, including AMPLIFY, a service I have often used to clip sections of articles to share with other, has been halted. Strange waters may be ahead. Are they better?
