Pink scrubs, Darth Vader mask, hatchet-wielding bank robbery suspect arrested - Rowland Heights
At about 11:00AM on December 30th, a robber entered the Bank of America located inside an Albertson's grocery store on the 19000 block of Colima Road. An undisclosed amount of money was stolen. After robbing the bank, he was seen quickly leaving the store wearing the unusual disguise and weapon.
Walnut Sheriff's Station detectives of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and investigators with the Federal Bureau of Investigation immediately followed up on several leads.
The investigation led to the identification of the suspect as Gregory Sanchez, male Hispanic, 46, a resident of West Covina.
Bail is set at $100,000.00.
"Bank robbery is a very serious matter and very frightening to victims and witnesses. We are glad no one was hurt and that we have a suspect in custody," said Lt. John Saleeby, Walnut Sheriff's Station, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Humans have 46 chromosomes. But what about other animal species ?
There are surprisingly few comparative lists of chromosome numbers to be found on the internet. I admit : it does not make a lot of sense. What would be the scientific value of that ?
Just out of curiosity I searched a bit and as far as I know below is the only list of animal species with 46 chromosomes :
- Humans (Homo sapiens)
- Muntjacs (Muntiacus reevesi)
- Black rat (Rattus rattus) , but not all of them have 46
- European hare (Lepus europeus)

video: Duran Duran - All You Need Is Now
By now, some of you may have heard the new Duran Duran album. You can nearly pick out each song they used as a reference to update, yet return to their original sound. I still have to sit with this for a while but as I posted months ago, their David Bowie cover, "Boys Keep Swinging", is fantastic.
Mark Ronson produced this album and told the band he wanted them to return to the way they originally made music. "No Computers". However, I am not sure this rule applied with the corrected Simon LeBon vocals on the single All You Need Is Now.
Overall, I do like this. If you are a fan of later Sneaker Pimps / IAMX, you can hear the similar feel in certain songs where Chris Corner was grabbing his spirit, especially if you ever saw videos of him and Simon performing together. I hope Duranies everywhere will enjoy this album and that this will open the doors for Duran Duran to continue this sound which is truer to their known vibe. There are some great guests on the album but you should just listen to it... enjoy!

True Grit @ Arclight Cineramadome review
Today, I caught the 5:45, Sunday screening of The Coen Brothers latest offering, True Grit at the Cineramadome at Arclight, one of the best theatres in Hollywood.
While I am not a fan of Matt Damon and I had just seen Jeff Bridges in the visually stunning yet poorly scripted, Tron Legacy, I was still excited to see this as I enjoy film by the Coens!
I have loved everything of their's from Blood Simple to last year's A Serious Man. I did NOT, however, like Burn After Reading. It should have been called Bored Simple.
This movie proved to be a fantastic journey. I give no spoilers but the epilogue was superfluous.
The lead girl, played by Hailee Steinfeld, is an amazing girl of character. The actress is actually YOUNGER than the 14 year old whom she portrays! If you want to see a strong western with fun dialogue, True Grit is for you! All six of us who watched it were highly entertained... We also liked hitting FAT FISH for $2 sushi after the film ;)

If you hung out with me in October, you probably were introduced to James Blake, who created a clever cover of the Feist song, Limit To Your Love. His voice does not sound like a 24 year fellow but an older, more sophisticated voice. Then again, it has an essence of Daryl Hall or some 60s, 70s Philadelphia Soul!!!
