A team of microbiologists from Hollins University found that 48% of the sodas they tested from fast food soda fountains had coliform bacteria, resistant to most antibiotics!!!

I was reading email earlier and a sponsored link

It lead to this article on wired about Robin Guthrie, the founding member of the influential band, Cocteau Twins.

Last month, his new album, Carousel was released and you can grab it directly from his site. http://www.robinguthrie.com The article is a good read about how the times have changed and includes his thoughts on social networking.


As autumn weaves its way into reality here in Hollywood with its grey skies and cool breezes, it reminds me of 20 years earlier, listening to Cocteau Twins and other 4ad/ Beggars Banquet label artists while either on a long train ride or driving my jeep through the blankets of lightly moistened yellow, brown-red leaves throughout PA, NJ & NY. I can even smell the scent of rain and the dust of the trees in the air!

Now I am even more excited to be heading to the east coast in time for Halloween!

East Coast, yo!
While Botanica is no longer doing a US tour due to some issues on the end of Firewater's booking, I will still be DJing and possibly doing an acoustic guitar gig in Philadelphia, NYC and a few other spots on the east coast from May 2nd through the 14th.

I will be on the road and touring... but not with Botanica and not on the drums but being the scientist at the main helms, engineering the sound for SPECIMEN on the upcoming ALIEN SEX FIEND tour.

I suppose most of you did not know I sorta moved out of Hollywood recently and up to a lovely home in Grananda Hills.
Miss Pooch-A-Rilla spends more time there than I do currently... she loves the big front and back yards!
We both reside with Mark Caro aka TechItch and Jillian as well as her two kitties. Expect to hear and see more on the Pooch & Paris animated series. Think Thelma and Louise but with a cat-like dog and dog-like cat!

To make up for the April Fool's Gag that even had my dad fooled, I have included some extra juicy tidbits from my recent archives.

I always liked Timbaland and the fact that he was a producer who made music for the hiphop scene but listened to underground electronic whether is be industrial, drum n bass or electro. Apparently he was so influenced by Crystal Castles' 2006 tune called "Courtship Dating", that he lifted it and resold it to 50 Cent as "Ayo Technology".


Jack Lalane always had it right! Listen to him... he is still rockin and sockin!

LOTD: FIGHT CLUB THE MUSICAL & Cholesterol

I had taken some time away from the net last week and have been focusing on wrapping up the album for RED LIGHT DISTRICT as well as shifting my dietary world since I had been told I was thirty pounds overweight and 20 pounds heavier than last year. The worst of it was being called and informed I had a massively high bad cholesterol level and that I would need to start Lipitol immediately...

The good news is that I said I would change my diet right away and ex-sore-sigh-zzz.
I was told the following:
1. cut down on red meat
= my response: I have not had red meat in 20 years

2. instead of whole milk, use 2% or lowfat
= my response: I do not drink milk and haven't for years... I drink almond milk

3. do not butter my breads as often, etc.
= my response: I hardly ever have butter on my bread

4. Ice Cream
= my response: Ok... you got me!

I can rock an entire one of those Dreyer's 2 gallons in one sitting while watching a movie ;)
Anyhow..... I have since cut out fried foods, ice cream and even sodas (Jack & Coke have been limited drastically as well) and weight is not only dropping, but I feel fantastic :)
I even had 3 comments on Sunday regarding my weight :)

FIGHT CLUB, The Musical


Yes, boys and girlinas... following in the trail of Mel Brooks' work, The Producers, Young Frankenstein and soon to be, Blazing Saddles, a number of fantastic films are doing the flip of the Musical to Movie act as the stories of the Moving Pictures are being resurrected and adapted for the stage for song and dance.

One of these is the story of FIGHT CLUB by Chuck Palahniuk. Apparently, Trent Reznor will score this.
Director, David Fincher will be tied to this as well if the production takes off at all.

I am not sure I can imagine Tyler Durden as a flamboyant dancer, but then again, the Sharks of West Side Story had a dark side that was convincing at the time, but "when you're a Jet you're a Jet all the way from your first cigarette 'till your last dyin' day!"
