MAN OF STEEL (2013) Review

Yesterday, I went to the premiere of Man Of Steel. This is a much more human version of Superman than we have seen. The film focuses on him and not about a love story of Clark Kent & Lois Lane. The actors (Henry Cavill, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Shannon, Diane Lane, etc) do a fine job of playing characters we know.

If quick paced action scenes, eye candy and an awesome score by Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL tickles your fancy, you will enjoy this film. It is entertaining but feels long, clocking in around 2 hours 15 mins.

Great actors, Fun Script/ Dialogue, Decent settings... I enjoyed the musical selections..... the pace... eeek... the pace was lousy. The film makes me root for more Sam Rockwell and Christopher Walken roles!

I just returned home from seeing the midnight screening of 50/50.

I laughed. I certainly cried... and then I laughed.

Cancer has been a player in the history of my family and this story is told in a very realistic and touching perspective. Please see this film.

I watched this "gem" on Netflix... wow.... and not in a good way.

1. A horrid re-write of a re-write!

2. Poor direction, crap camera
work, lousy sophomoric editing, overuse of saturated color filters.

3. Mediocre acting (partially due to direction).

4. Montage Madness!!!

5.Superfluous comic relief.

6. Wasted Dramatic moments.

(WATCH THE ORIGINAL or Listen to the Radioplay)

I do like Michael Douglas, but his choice to be in this is a touch of a
mystery... perhaps he lost a bet? Maybe he owed a favor? Blackmail?
